The PreMedical and PreDental Interest Group in myUMBC is the primary mechanism for the PreMedical and PreDental Advising Office to share events, information, and opportunities with UMBC students who are planning to pursue a career in Dentistry, Medicine, Optometry, Podiatry, or Veterinary Medicine. While events and posts are fed to our website, members of the UMBC community who “follow” our myUMBC Group can receive email notifications directly to their UMBC email account.
At this time, enrollment in this myUMBC Group is not automatic. In order to receive our communications, students must choose to follow our myUMBC Group by:
- Logging into their myUMBC account
- Searching the Group Directory for this group (or follow the hyperlink above to navigate directly)
- Clicking on the “Follow” button at the top of the Group home page
- Note: If your view of our myUMBC Group’s home page has a drop-down menu for “Notifications” instead of a “Follow” button, you’re already a follower!
Students can continue to receive notices after graduation by maintaining an active UMBC Gmail account, where the notices will be delivered. The current guidelines for when Alumni accounts are declared “inactive” can be found in the UMBC FAQs.
Other UMBC Faculty and Staff are also welcome to follow our myUMBC Group, particularly those who work with PreHealth students as Academic Advisors, Scholars Program Administrators, and other supporting roles.
