Easy as 1-2-3...Get ready for Spring 2018 registration

Spring 2018 course registration alerts will be sent soon, so here are some fast tips to help you understand the chronology of registration.

1.  On October 23, the Schedule of Classes for Spring 2018 will be published and available on the Registrar's website.  Use this resource to build a Spring 2018 schedule along with your degree audit which is available within your myUMBC account.

2.  Find out who your Declared Major/Assigned Academic Advisor in your Declared Major is.  Check out the list of Declared Major Advisors here.  Remember, pre-health is not a Declared Major, but is a supplementary interest area.  When you are ready, schedule an appointment with your Declared Major advisor and get your Spring 2018 registration block lifted.

3.  After you get your Spring 2018 registration block lifted and if you are pre-health (pre-medical, pre-dental, pre-optometry, pre-podiatry, pre-veterinary) and a Freshman, Freshman Transfer, Sophomore, or Sophomore Transfer plan on attending one of the MANDATORY Freshman or Sophomore pre-health advising meetings.  Select one of the November meeting dates and put it on your calendar now so you don't forget to attend one of these Mandatory group advising meetings, required by all select pre-health students.

Similarly, Juniors and Seniors should formulate their Spring 2018 schedules with their Declared Major advisors and contact with Ms. Roelke with pre-medical, pre-dental, pre-optometry, pre-podiatry, or pre-veterinary specific questions.  There are not any mandatory group advising meetings for juniors or seniors.

DO YOU HAVE FRIENDS WHO ARE pre-med, dent, opt, pod, or vet?  TELL THEM TO JOIN THE "PreMedical and PreDental (and Optometry, Podiatry, Veterinary) Interest Group"!  Go to myUMBC, and then Group Directory, to join.
